Texte | In this paper, we explore „Eventful Collectives“ which are characterized by their transitive nature, moving beyond essentialist interpretations and focu-sing on processuality and temporality. Drawing upon research on Posttradi-tional Communitarization and the social dynamics of scenes, we analyze how these collectives embody community within society. This article thus exa-mines collectives with a certain quality of communitarization in a non-essen-tialist way and asks about the processuality and, accordingly, temporality of collectives. In a first step, we use three different conceptions of temporality (differential, sequential, and consecutive) to characterise the sociotempora-lity of scenes. On this basis, the article focuses on the collective character of extra-ordinary events which are characterised based on New Historical Sociology and Eventful Sociology. Based on two empirical cases, three characteristics
of such eventful collectives are reconstructed and discussed: the transitive composition, transitive knowledge syntheses and the reflexivity of transitivity. |
