Titel | International Action Research Summer Camp |
Typ | Studienreise |
Texte | Beschreibung: The Action Research Summer Camp is a both virtual and in-person training in Participatory Action Research for a diverse group of early-stage researchers and professionals from around the world. It is co-produced with a grassroots organization in Innsbruck. For one week, this home for mobile European Roma is turned into a training site. The first run in 2021 was hosted by the University of Salzburg and co-funded by Fulbright Austria.
Our holistic methodology includes walking talks, journaling, arts-based group exercises, workshops, plenary sessions, and socio-cultural activities. Our program is characterized by the EHEA-principles of Student Partnership, Responsible Research and Innovation, Science with and for Society, and Academic Freedom. The pilot produced excellent evaluation results and outcomes. The combined doctoral and extracurricular teaching allows participants from abroad to move freely and those from Austria to take part in internationalization@home. The Camp demonstrates how an Inclusive, Innovative and Interconnected European Higher Education project can be built successfully. The program will be continued as a Certificate Course in 2022. This award of micro-credentials on an ECTS basis will foster a more inclusive access, in line with the European and Austrian Strategy on the Social Dimension. The tailor-made package is flexible enough to be adapted by other institutions. |
