| Texte | Abstract: This paper explores how care-infused practices reshape organizational structures for inclusive work in post-pandemic times. Challenging neoliberal dynamics that reduce organizational inclusion to mere "technologies of governance" (Ahmed, 2012), we argue such approaches perpetuate power imbalances and constrained recognition (Dobusch, 2021). Building on Tronto's (2013) assertion of a democracy and care deficit incompatible with neoliberalism, we demonstrate how democratic organizing and care-full inclusion are intertwined. Disability-led organizations offer rich insights into transforming organizational practices in this direction. In extension of our previous work in the "Cov_Enable: Reimagining Vulnerability in Times of Crisis" project, we are currently involved in transitioning our learning with an inclusive research group into a collaborative follow-up project. Currently, this project is in a "slow-research" preparatory and co-design phase, exploring what constitutes and enables inclusive work beyond narrow neoliberal framings. Adopting "slow scholarship" and "crip time" approaches (Liddiard et al., 2024, Kafer 2013), we situate lived experiences of inclusive collaboration and co-creation at the core of our inquiry, challenging the accelerated, output-driven tempos of the neoliberal academy while also drawing on care webs (Piepzna-Samarasinha, 2018) as a framework for imagining collective care practices
Through a series of collective sense-making workshops over one year, the group arrived at an initial understanding of interconnected pairs of caring practices that constitute dimensions of inclusive work: equality and recognition; co-creation and well-being; collective negotiation and choice; building trust and familiarity, mindfulness and respect; preparation and security; accessibility and sharing information; flexibility and boundary management. Echoing Tronto's (1993) view that care ethics require organizations to evaluate not just what they do but how they do it, our preliminary findings show that taking the time to recognize often unnoticed acts of affordance creation (Dokumacı, 2023) can lead to more resilient and adaptive forms of organizing for inclusive work. These insights offer valuable lessons for advancing disability inclusion in the labor market and beyond -identifying new forms of democratic collaboration based on collective care and solidarity.
