| Texte | Summary:
Over the past 15 years, social mentoring has expanded across Europe as a socially innovative, communitydriven approach rooted in civil society. It is aimed at supporting various disadvantaged groups in their processes of social inclusion. Programmes based in NGOs and Higher Education institutions foster new, personally meaningful relationships between experienced and resourceful individuals (mentors), who are often volunteers, and those in need of support and guidance (mentees). According to the European Committee of the Regions, mentoring can be an effective and strategic tool for Europe's future. However, a significant breakthrough is needed to realise its full transformative potential. The main challenge of this Action is to develop a sustainable ecosystem for research and innovation in social mentoring, supported by an excellence-driven, transnational, interdisciplinary and multi-sectoral community of practice. The Action's structured innovation pipeline delivers co-created products and applications to achieve measurable impact in the areas of science, society, and policy: (1) Specially validated knowledge platforms, encyclopaedias, and curricula for training chart the development towards "Social Mentoring Studies" as a new field of engaged research. (2) Evidence-based, practical methods for monitoring, impact analysis, evaluation and programme development can be used to adapt mentoring to different European contexts, particularly in ITCs. One way to achieve this is through a European certified system with a defined process and quality seal. (3) Tailor-made communication formats demonstrate how mentoring programmes can complement and support welfare systems, thereby strengthening the European Pillar of Social Rights through dialogue with policymakers, authorities, businesses, civil society, universities, and donors. |
